Administrative Intern 2010

Position Description:
The intern will work on a variety of projects ranging from administrative support to event coordination to development work. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone interested in learning about employment in the non-profit sector, as our interns have the opportunity to explore many facets of managing a far-reaching, successful non-profit organization. Intern hours are flexible, though a commitment of 15 or more hours a week is preferred.  

Job Tasks will include:

  • Special Events: Assist in coordinating events including local and regional meetings on the state of the region’s beaches, and family events on the waterfront. Work may include organizing mailings, email blasts and phone calls to generate attendance for events.
  • Fundraising/Development: Identify and research new potential funders, update and maintain database and other records
  • Administrative Support: Help support the office team by providing administrative work such as organizing and filing materials and answering phones.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet searches


Compensation:
Save the Harbor/Save the Bay does not provide stipends for internships, but will work closely with students to see that the internship meets credit requirements. You don't need to be a student to apply.
